Custom Layouts
Window Manager
Intro
OneMenu allows you to customize all keyboard shortcuts in the app. But window management keybindings behave in a special way.
The Layouts
The custom layouts settings page is designed with great care, as it enables advanced features with no extra configuration. Please note the following:
Define a Custom Area
Press the +
button to add a new window area, and choose from one of the templates to get started.
You can define the position and size of an area using:
- Decimal points, ex. 0.4
- Percent, ex. 25%
- Fraction, ex. 1/3
Assign a Keyboard Shortcut
Press the Keyboard shortcut
button to record a new keyboard shortcut. In case you assign the same keyboard shortcut to multiple areas, you can repeatedly press the shortcut to cycle between all areas that share it.
Choose the Screen Size
Often it's useful to limit on which screen size a specific window area is going to be active, for example you can define:
- 1/5 columns for your ultrawide
- Upper and lower 1/3 only for your vertical monitor
This will ensure that when you drag windows with your mouse to corresponding edges of the screen, the correct window areas trigger, depending on which screen your mouse is.
Auto-Layout
When snapping a window to one of the sides of your screen, OneMenu will automatically show a list of other open windows that you can choose to snap next to your window.
